Harborview School

Harborview Elementary School is located just west of downtown Juneau. Corvus Design provided design through construction administration services to redesign the school site. Within a relatively small existing site, the site design incorporates: two age-appropriate playgrounds, best management practices for stormwater, native and locally adapted introduced planting material, and opportunities for children to engage with their surroundings: providing curriculum opportunities and connections to their local landscapes. Work included site design, landscape design, and playground design. The school playground’s popularity with children and the residents of Juneau illustrates its success. The project received LEED Certified status.
